For this Weekend Adventure, the Food Explorers visit Mall of Asia to try the Mochi Donuts from Mochi Sweets.

If you've heard of a mochi, it's the term for glutinous rice cakes that came from Japan. And then they made mochi ice creams that had different flavors of ice cream wrapped in a similarly colored and flavored mochi layer.

Now the Mochi Donut is just another form of the mochi ice cream. Instead of an entire mochi "bun" they just punched a hole through it and called it a mochi donut. :D

You have to admit, these mochi donuts look really cute!

This is a half dozen of assorted mochi donuts. 

They assemble the boxes at the store when you order. You can choose the flavor of the mochi donuts that you want to try. :)

The flavors: Strawberry, Roasted Sesame, Ube, Chocolate, Mango and Vanilla

We got this deal through Metrodeal's website. They sell these box of 6 mochi donuts for half the price of the actual. Just P210 instead of P420. :D

I gotta say, my favorite has got to be the Roasted Sesami Mochi Donut.

For this Weekend Adventure, the food explorers visit Pao Pao Xiao Chi in Two Ecom near Mall of Asia to try out their Milk Tea. ^_^

Pao Pao Xiao Chi is located in another building that's quite near Mall of Asia. It's in the same area, just 2 buildings away. You have to pass One Ecom before you get to Two Ecom. hehe

Got all sweaty after walking so far. Gaah

Once we got there, We ordered 4 drinks. I got a voucher from Metrodeal that sold the drinks for half their price. :)

While waiting for our drinks to be mixed up, we took a bunch of photos. :D

These are the drinks we ordered. To be honest, I don't remember the flavors we ordered. We went there 2 years ago!

The shop is pretty cute. Mostly green walls with purple and orange overhead. I was pretty satisfied with the flavor of the milk tea I got. (I think I got wintermelon) But yeah that's mostly it. It doesn't compare to Gong Cha but it's still pretty good, specially for the price. :)

For this Weekend Adventure, the Food Explorers visit David's Tea House at SM Mall of Asia for some affordable Chinese fare.

Thanks to +MetroDeal Philippines, we got to eat here at a discount! Only had to pay around 600 for 1200 worth of food. hahaha :D That's just half the price!!

The place is actually quite packed when we got there. I like their white and red neon lights all over the place.

The service at this place is pretty good too. As soon as we sat down they set up the table for us. There are four of us that day, I just didn't have enough of a wide angle lens to get all 4 plates.

We ordered a Lychee juice,  Mango shake, Lemonade and a Coke. We thought my sister would make it to the place.

While waiting for the food, of course we had to take some commemorative pictures! I think we took too much. wahaha

My brother Bingo, is always either just staring blanky at the camera or smiling like the joker. Rarely does something in between. :P

I was surprised at seeing someone pour soup for us. :D 

This is all the food 600 pesos can buy through Metrodeal. Aww Yeaah!

We ordered a whole bunch of food. We got crispy pata, pancit canton, sweet and sour pork, buttered sauteed mushrooms, pork chop with rice, birds nest soup, and some asado siopao.

I like this garnish made out of a cucumber. tsscuute. :)

We went here to celebrate my brother's birthday even when the actual day has already passed.
He's a good sport. It's always fun to go out with the family anyway. :)

Overall, we really liked the food. The best one for me was their Pancit Canton. :D It was very nice. It tasted great, it didn't taste too salty. The service was quick and the crew were friendly. I wish I can find another voucher as good as this one.  :D

For this Weekend Adventure, the Gulay Gang goes to Mangan at Mall of Asia to try out their contemporary spin on traditional Kapampangan cuisine.

Mangan looks and feels quite fancy. But not too fancy, it's still not fine dining. But it's a very homey family friendly resto.

Let's take a quick review, we ordered four viands and ordered rice. We pretty much shared everything and we ate all of it. The best thing I tried here is the crispy hito with burong mangga. Oh my gosh that was awesome. I liked that the fish was really crispy and well seasoned, and the burong mangga was just tart enough to cut through the salty fish. 'twas GOOD! The Crispy pata was okay, a little disappointing because the amount of bones we had left was far more than the amount of meat we got to eat from it. Their sisig, ginataang kalabasa and tocilog were all okay. Nothing too impressive. The total bill was way over the voucher's worth but it was still well within budget. :)

Overall, Mangan serves pretty darn good Filipino food at an affordable rate. I can easily go back here even without a voucher.

For this Weekend Adventure, the food explorers try out the overly hyped pancakes of International House of Pancakes aka IHOP at Mall of Asia. :)

There was a time that I hear IHOP had lines of people that want to eat here. And that you had to spend at least an hour in line if you want to eat. But I guess the hype died down pretty quickly. XD

So I got the voucher we used from +Ensogo and I'm really impressed with the restaurants that they get recently. Pretty darn good ones.

Anyway, so since it was our first time at IHOP. We didn't really know what to order. So we just got what you would probably get at the International House of Pancakes, we got pancakes.

There were also four different types of syrups right at the table: Old fashioned syrup, Blueberry syrup, Strawberry syrup, and Butter Pecan Syrup.

We tried all of them but the one syrup that made us go "Ohh my gawd" was the Butter Pecan. The old fashioned syrup was okay. The blueberry and strawberry syrups both taste like Tempra. Too artificial. But the Butter Pecan, was amazing.

We got a Breakfast Sampler for P395. It included the pancakes. And it also had a lot of protein. Two eggs, hash browns, two bacon strips, two pork sausage links and two pieces of ham,

We also got the Chicken and Waffles for P295. Obviously, it has fried chicken and waffles on a plate with some butter. :D The waffles were no biggie, they're just the same batter as the pancake and just in a different form. The chicken were fully cooked and crispy on the outside while juicy inside.

For dessert we tried something we've never seen before. A FRIED CHEESECAKE! It's the Crispy Strawberry Banana Cheesecake at P245

It looked pretty good. But it was too oily and weird when we ate it. The fruits were okay tho.

And no we didn't finish everything. We purposefully saved some leftovers for the next day.

Overall, this restaurant is okay. I absolutely loved their pancake with the butter pecan syrup. But the idea of spending so much just for pancakes and breakfast isn't really a good idea for me. My sister can make pancakes just as fluffy as IHOP's. XD But I'll miss the butter pecan syrup.
I'll most likely come back when a voucher is available again. :)
