For this Birthday Adventure, me and my sister visit Tokyo Cafe in Megamall for a quick Japanese treat before my birthday. :D

Tokyo Cafe is one of those cool and modern restos where you can order Japanese food. We got to eat here thanks to a voucher from Cashcashpinoy that gave me a 40% discount to a set meal.

Yes, we have to take photos of ourselves before the meal. Why would you even bother eating out if you don't takes photos? :D

Waiting for the food means that I have to time to spend just tking photos of the restaurant's deco.

And here's the food! We got to try out their Katsu Ju bento set which is a Pork chop that was breaded and fried then topped with egg and it comes with miso soup, a side dish of fruits and a glass of iced red tea.

We both got the same thing. :D

And as an added item, we also got one order of  California Roll.

The Katsu Ju set was a bit of a flop for me. It was really oily but it tasted good. The best part of the meal for me was the Cali roll. It was light, sweet because of the mango and the dipping sauce was spicy and salty that it was a really good contrast of flavors. I loved it. :D

So that was what we had on October 23 of 2013.
Tokyo Cafe in Megamall has already closed. But do try out their food from another branch. I recommend their Cali Roll! :D

For this Weekend Adventure, the Gulay Gang goes to Mangan at Mall of Asia to try out their contemporary spin on traditional Kapampangan cuisine.

Mangan looks and feels quite fancy. But not too fancy, it's still not fine dining. But it's a very homey family friendly resto.

Tray Mirror Deco

Heavy spoon and forks

Bookshelf incorporated with the kitchen's window. Pretty cool, :D

The Gulay Gang is ready eat!

We used a voucher from +CashCashPinoy to get a discount at this restaurant. The voucher was worth P1000 and I only paid P600 for it. :)

We ordered a few drinks and food items from their menu:

Sisig ni Mely P260
Crispy Pata P600
Crispy Hito with Burong Mangga and Burong Hipon P180
Gatang Sitaw at Kalabasa P180
Tocilog :D
Me and my Dalandan Juice
Papa and Mama, with their San Mig, and Mango Shake
Bingo with his Iced Tea
Let's take a quick review, we ordered four viands and ordered rice. We pretty much shared everything and we ate all of it. The best thing I tried here is the crispy hito with burong mangga. Oh my gosh that was awesome. I liked that the fish was really crispy and well seasoned, and the burong mangga was just tart enough to cut through the salty fish. 'twas GOOD! The Crispy pata was okay, a little disappointing because the amount of bones we had left was far more than the amount of meat we got to eat from it. Their sisig, ginataang kalabasa and tocilog were all okay. Nothing too impressive. The total bill was way over the voucher's worth but it was still well within budget. :)

Overall, Mangan serves pretty darn good Filipino food at an affordable rate. I can easily go back here even without a voucher.

Me and the Roasted Bell Pepper Quesadillas
For this Weekend Food Adventure, my fellow explorer Lace and I visit MaDeCa for the very first time. MaDeCa actually stands for something else, but I thought I should write a different meaning to the acronym just for funsies. :P

MaDeCa was named based on the Galleon Trade route from Manila to Acapulco (MAnila DE aCApulco). They offer a wide array of FilMex cuisine. Which is the first time I've encountered Filipino Mexican food anywhere. They combined the ever popular Sisig with a burrito. And we now have a sisig burrito. They took Lechon Kawali and also placed it in a burrito. They took normal Chicken Salpicao and combined it with a taco, so they have a Sapicao taco!! It's friggin brilliant!

Their restaurant has a lot of red, white and green colors, similar to the Mexican Flag. The place is filled with square red/white/green pillows too. Comfy and homey. Me likey.

We used a P500 voucher from +Deal Grocer :D and we got to order a few things from their menu.

The number for your meal is a carved wooden number! How cool is that?

We ordered a few things:
Fish Soft Tacos
Sisig Soft Tacos
Roasted Bell Pepper & Caramelized Onions Quesadillas
Lechon Kawali Burrito
Iced Tea

Fish Soft Tacos

Roasted Bell Pepper & Caramelized Onions Quesadillas

Lace and her Fish Tacos

Sisig Soft Taco

Lechon Kawali Burrito

Failed Close up of the Lechon Kawali Burrito

NOM NOM NOM NOM NOOOOOM!!!

Iced Tea

Best things that we tried: the Sisig taco and Lechon Kawali Burrito. The sisig was still crunchy and well seasoned. Really matches well with the sour cream and the tomatoes. The Lechon Kawali was really flavorful despite there being so little chunks in the burrito. Still crispy too!
The Fish taco and Roasted bell pepper quesadilla were just so so. The sides were really good. It's just sour cream, tomatoes and chips. But they're still friggin awesome. The iced tea was also fabulous, and it comes in a fabulous mason jar and a cool wooden pallet for a coaster!

Overall, I'm definitely coming back. and I will keep coming back to MaDeCa. With or without vouchers. The food is awesome here either with the tacos or with rice. And if you haven't tried them out yet, you'd better!

This event was held back in 2013. It was September and its our Q3 RnR Party. It's just a simple Rewards and Recognition program with dinner and some games. But it's nice to see the pictures. The theme of the party is Glam Rock. Hence the black rock-ish outfit. :D

I got made up by Madame Carol. Makeup is still something very foreign for me to do by myself, so I really prefer if someone else does it hahaha.

It's the first time I got to eat at Racks. I've never tried their food before. So I was pretty excited that the party was held there. The food they served was a buffet style layout, and we pretty much got as much as we wanted of what was served.

So I got some carbonara, chili con carne, salad, and best of all bbq chicken. No ribs tho. :(

Overall it was an awesome party!
The explorers wander off to Quezon City to attend a special birthday party. haha This was held on September 22, 2013. I can't believe it's already over a year.

This is the birthday celebrant, Katniss! :)

The best part for me was the Photo Booth. We really took a lot of pictures!

The Venetian Style Masks are awesome!

And that's it. Oh I also remembered. This is a sortof memorable day for us because on that day, +Ma.Elissa Pagulayan forgot her umbrella in the bus on the way to the party. Wahaha
