I just recently finished Assassin's Creed Unity and it was okaaaaaay.
Stress on the aaaaaaayyyyyy.

I don't always buy PC games, I usually download them. But when it comes to Assassin's Creed, I usually pre order them even. And it's a bit sad to get a crappy game for the amount of money you pay for it. This is a veeery late review of AC Unity.

Say you just finished the awesome game of Assassin's Creed Black Flag. You played as Edward Kenway and conquered the seven seas. Now you're looking forward to vanquishing the evil Templars in France as Arno Victor Dorian in Assassin's Creed Unity. They had a pretty awesome trailer and the hype was pretty big for the game. And then the game was released, and you actually play it. *Poof* That's the sound of your bubble bursting.

You just had to be disappointed that so many things were removed and changed in Unity. The free roaming was limited. Very limited. You can't even do naval missions now. There's no Ship, no crew, no whale hunting, no crafting, no streak kills, and no life regen! They also removed the loading part where you can make the main character run (or dance depending on how you move the arrow keys) Oh they removed multiplayer too. *sigh*

Unity is also popular for being glitchy. Like really glitchy. Freezing up. Characters without skin and all kinds of other bugs can be seen all throughout the game. Even with patches, some bugs are just the usual type of glitch that you'll always see in an Assassin's Creed game. Here are some of the glitchy things I found while playing:

Floating bottle

Floating Cello and the player is now standing but is still playing XD

Arno get's absorbed by the wall

Oh look! I can open looks without touching them!

She keeps floating to the top of the canopy and continues dancing XD

Oh my gosh. Look at his butt

Where your head at? XD

Awful thing Ubisoft added: Microtransactions! Like hell. I'm not going to spend any money on this game more than what I spent to buy it! It's really annoying. You can buy upgrades for Arno using REAL LIFE MONEY! Hell no! Fucking Helix points.

Another awful thing Ubisoft added. Initiate Chests. What the hell Ubi. I actually like finding and opening all the chests on the map. But now I can't because the initiate chests can only be opened when you're a specific level in AC Initiates. Which was okay, but then. It got weird. In the end Ubi just gave away the initiate chests, so I got to open them in the end.

Sorta good thing that's new: Coop Gameplay. You can now play coop within a mission. But this was a bit problematic too. Sometimes during a coop mission, Arno will freeze up and you can't do anything about it. You'll just have to quit the game entirely. But in all honesty I enjoyed playing the coop missions. Especially when my team members are all really quick and I don't have to do anything. I just wait for them to finish the mission and I get the points at the end anyway. :D

The graphics were improved. Well sort of. No, not really. The graphics were good if you set the graphics settings to high but your pc will lag anyway so you set the graphic quality back to low, and now you have mediocre graphics to look at. Well done, Ubi.

One thing I missed in the old games that isn't in the new game, you can't pet the dogs anymore. Why??? T_T

Basically I'm pretty disappointed with almost everything in this game. So many features got lost and then Ubisoft added so many other features that wasn't working and in the end didn't work at all so they just gave up on it. And even the Dead Kings freebie wasn't too interesting.

I'm just hoping that the next AC installment will be better than this. :)
A long long time ago, maybe around October actually, I pre-ordered Assassin's Creed Unity at Data Blitz in the Podium. This was after the trailer of Assassin's Creed Unity was just released and I was blown away by how awesome it looked. And it had a different kind of multiplayer, thru coop missions which was highlighted by the trailer.

Anyway, so I paid 500 pesos to pre-order the game. And once it's released I get the game itself along with a bunch of freebies.

Fast forward a month later, I just got the game and I paid additional 1150, for the total of P 1650. This is the price for the PC version of AC Unity. The console games are much more expensive. :P

So here are the pics of my freebies! :D

I got a shirt, a guillotine bottle opener and an art book.

Free "Unite" Tshirt

Free Guillotine bottle opener

Free AC Unity Artbook

Arno Dorian, the main assassin in AC Unity

Despite the fact that I "pre-ordered" the game, I didn't really play it until December. Which was actually a good idea in the long run. When the game first came out, it was so full of of bugs that it could have been the cast of A Bug's life. get it? wahaha

When I actually played the game, I didn't encounter a lot of bugs. Some glitches are there but I can't really complain. I'm too much of a fan of Assassin's Creed to even get mad. :)

I just finished Alan Wake over the weekend and I friggin LOVED IT!!
This is a game I played slowly but surely over the past few weeks.

It's a horror game plus a puzzle game, and an action game where you fight the "Taken" who are shrouded and protected by darkness. So your main weapons include a flashlight and a ranged weapon like a pistol.

You have to battle several waves of the Taken while going through the game and it's up to you to figure out how to survive. At first I was completely annoyed with the fighting system. I was like "Dude, you have to point a flashlight at the enemy first before shooting at them? whuuuut?" But eventually, you get a hang of it and it's pretty friggin enjoyable when you defeat the bad guys. And as the game progresses, you get better flashlights, and stronger weapons. I love using the flash bang grenades and the flare plus shotgun combo. XD

Another part of this game I really liked were the cinematics and the story. I was really immersed in the story of Alan Wake and his quest to find his wife who was kidnapped in Bright Falls. It's effin awesome. The voice acting was absolutely brilliant. Listening to Alan Wake narrate what's happening is something you don't want to skip. Although the graphics can be totally improved, it doesn't keep you from getting into the story.

Also, each chapter or part of the game is cut into "Episodes" which is really cool. It's like you're watching a TV show instead of playing a game. They even throw in a "Previously on Alan Wake" recap. Weeehheeeee

I also loved to search for the secret caches of weapons. You'll find them when you see orange arrows that are only visible when you point your flashlight on a blank wall or something. Plus you'll hear heavy breathing when you're near a cache. Super creepy.

So yeah, overall, this is a brilliant game. I only ever bought it because Cry played it and said it was awesome. My first impression of the game was that it's bullcrap. But I when I came back to play again after some time, I fell in love with the story and the horror. It really is a game that you have to be in a mood to play.

Try it out for yourself. Get the game from Steam while it's on sale!

P.S. I also got the DLC sort of. Alan Wake: American Nightmare. Will probably play it after I finish AC Unity. :P

Whooweeee
Alright!!

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is the best game in the AC series yet.

It also has an online multiplayer feature!!

Which is actually one of the reasons why I bought this game, to try the Multiplayer in the Philippines.
BUT IT DOESNT WORK.
I guess its looking for other players on an original copy of the game in the same country so uhhh, I guess it really won't work since most of the gamers play pirated copies of the game.

Ehhhneewaaaay.
ACB picks up where AC2 left off.
Its pretty cool, since its like a sequel to an awesome movie.
This game still stars Ezio Auditore, and he's lil bit older now.
Still he is an even better assassin than before.
He also built a brotherhood of assassins, where he recruits other citizens and trains them and such.
The brotherhood is a huge help in assassination missions.

I also liked the free add-on of the Da Vinci Disapprearance in the PC version.
Its a total of 11 extra missions in-game.

I own an original copy of this game as well. But I can't play the multiplayer mode somehow.
The system just can't find other players.

Sigh, Ezio is soooo coool!!!

Im just a fan girl, I know.

This is the first game in the whole AC series that I ever played.
Initially I was intrigued by the game after I watched AC Lineage.
Its the short video series that Ubisoft made as a prequel to the game.

Back then I was thinking, Naah, my PC won't be able to handle it.
FYI, my PC was running P4 on an ancient mother board and a measly 256 MB video card.
Finally after I scrounged up enough money to buy a decent laptop, I decided to get the game..via torrent.
So what? its free. I just wanted to try it out. But after I tried it, I loved it!

Gameplay is awesome, graphics wise is awesome too.
Im sorry if everything that I type in this post almost always has the word awesome in it.
hehe

But it really is AWESOME!!!

I didn't buy an original copy of this game. I don't know. Maybe Im just saving for Revelations when it comes out. hehe

If you have no idea what in the world Assassin's Creed is then go back to the rock you've been hiding under and stay there!!

Assassin's Creed is one of the awesomest game series that inspired my decision to actually buy an original pc dvd game just to support Ubisoft.

Assassin's Creed is the first of the series of RPG games.
For this game, the main character is Altair Ibn La'ahad, an assassin in the ancient times.
Insert game description here: blah blah blah

I actually played this game AFTER I finished playing Assassin's Creed 2 (AC2),
and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (ACB).
I just wanted to know how the story went.

I was actually very disappointed with the game play of the first game.
It was a perpetual headache after experiencing the advance game settings in AC 2 and AC:B
I just then realized how much Ubisoft improved with their game programming in each game.

Overall the game was even more challenging as compared to the 2nd and 3rd installment since it has the primitive options.
  • You don't have the climb leap
  • you can't swim (you'll die if you fall into a body of water)
  • you dont have the double blade
  • you dont have a minimap
  • you can't call a horse
  • you have no way of buying better armor or weapons!!
  • and you can't replay a mission on its own, you have to replay the whole frigging memory!
The gameplay was effin stupid, compared to the next 2 games. But anyway it was okay since it has a connection with the 4th AC game, Assassin's Creed: Revelations.

I own an original copy of this game. Got it from Ebay for a bargain. hehe
