One sunny day in January me +Ana Carla Pagulayan and my sister +Ma.Elissa Pagulayan went to Umami Hambaagu House restaurant at The Grove by Rockwell to try out their burgers.

We went there for lunch, and we shouldn't have eaten breakfast. Coz the meal was huuge.

Thanks to another voucher from +Deal Grocer, we got to eat there at a discount

The restaurant and small, and cute at the same time. Walls are covered with either cute wallpapers or huge murals like this one.

This is the design on the wallpaper if you look closely

The movie playing on the Flatscreen is one of my favorite +Studio Ghibli 株式会社スタジオジブリ  Films, Spirited Away

Naruto!
The voucher I had at the time is not for a set meal, but the amount is worth P1000. Considering the prices of the meals we only got three things from the menu. Each Burger Steak meal comes with french fries, Japanese rice, sesame salad and edamame.

Roppongi Hills: Burger topped with Truffle cream sauce P 480

Side order: Chicken Karaage 220

Takeshi's Castle: Burger topped with Bonito flakes, Seaweed, BBQ sauce and Japanese Mayo

Very happy with our meal!
Once you bill out, they will give you the receipt in a cute, trash can looking container

And that's where you can put your payment. I only had to add 100 pesos to the voucher's value.

When they give you change, you get a cute mini shopping cart with your change and receipt.

Pros:
Huge portions
Cute and trendy ambiance
Lots of anime related stuff
Anime themed menu items
Great tasting food

Cons:
Hard to reach location, for me at least

Overall: Absolutely Amazing!

Unfortunately, this restaurant is closed now.

Koko Buri is in the Forum building in BGC.
It's a cool place. Went there with my sister and my mom.

I have a voucher from Deal Grocer with 2 set meals. But since there are 3 of us. I had to order additional stuff.

The voucher covered a meal with sampler of all types of chicken they offer:
Koko Buri Chicken - similar to regular fried chicken, crispy batter with white gravy dip
Soy Garlic Chicken - think Bon Chon soy garlic
Chili Garlic Chicken - think of the spicy Bon Chon chicken

It also came with a side salad, a delicious vinaigrette, a drink of choice between coffee or iced tea and a lemon square for dessert.
DG voucher meal: with the 3 pcs of chicken, salad, and rice

This is me with the Soy Garlic Chicken basket with 6 pcs of chicken - P390 and the rice was P 40

Lemon Squares - part of the DG voucher

My mom and sis. They both got the set meals. ^_^
The Fantastic Lemon Square!

I loved their soy garlic chicken. It was crispy, and delicious!
I also liked the chili garlic one, but not the Koko Buri Chicken. It was boring and bland compared to the other two.
And the Lemon Squares were fantastic, sweet and tart at the same time. Just brilliant.

I had to order the 6 pcs. of Soy Garlic chicken for P 370 and a cup of rice for P 40.

Total Bill:
P451 for 3 pax plus DG voucher value P660

Good Points:
Great Ambiance
Servers were attentive, friendly and very nice
Food tasted great
Portions were big
Place was clean

Bad Points:
Expensive chicken, but good to try ^_^
In the middle of nowhere. It was a ways away from SM Aura and Market Market.

Final Score: Awesome!
Will go back to this place when I get another voucher. ^_^

Last night, we went to try out the fare at Texas Roadhouse Grill in Shangri la East Wing.
I wasn't expecting much, but by the amount of people at the place, one would assume that the food was good.

I had a 500 peso voucher from Deal Grocer for this restaurant, so we had to limit the orders to something less than a thousand.

We chose 2 dishes:
Cheesy Pork Steak - P410

Loaded Texas Nachos - P 310
The ambiance was pretty good. It reminds me of Outback Steakhouse and PUBliko. Wooden tables and chairs, and the walls were littered with cowboys/western style decorations.
The servers were really nice, and gave us a bowl of peanuts while we were waiting for our food.

The first thing to arrive were the nachos.
The nachos were crisp, cheese was still warm, and bacon was crispy. It was pretty delicious.
I kept eating the nachos and the cheese and was quite happy with it, until I tried it with the SOUR CREAM.
Here's the disappointing part, the sour cream was already bitter and it had this awful smell to it.
I asked our server to have it checked, and the manager came out to say it was the normal taste of a sour cream sauce. I wanted to ask him to try it himself, but they already took it. -_-
Anyway, they replaced it with ranch dressing, and it was okay.

Next was the cheesy pork steak.
I was looking forward to that one since I was quite famished.
It was supposed to be my first decent meal of the day.
We had the serving split into two since the portions were quite big.
I was happy when I saw that cheese melted on top of the porkchop, with fresh veggies on the side.
But then I smelled it. It smelled awful. I was like
"is the pork they're using old??
Double u tee efff.!!!"
I tried drowning it in ranch dressing. It helped a bit. The taste was so so , nothing too notable.
I can make a better pork chop at home. -_-

When the server asked how our food was, I told her that the pork was smelly.
She explained that they were using Swiss cheese, and some kind of herb (I forgot the name of the herb though). She asked if the taste was fine, I said it was oh kaay.
So my sister tried to separate the cheese from the pork. And it was obvious. It really was the cheese that made it smelly. I hope they just used regular cheese, coz the smell just made me lose my appetite.

Total Bill: P 802 for 2 pax
Only paid 302 - Deal Grocer voucher value was P 500.

Good points:
The servers were nice, and attentive
The portions were big
The nachos were fantastic

Bad points:
The place smells of paint, because there's a nearby construction (a shop was being built within the mall)
The peanuts were hard (I prefer the peanuts soft)
The sour cream they served was bad
The swiss cheese they added on the pork was smelly as hell
The price of the food was not worth it

Final Score: Nope!
I'm never going back here again.
